Meet Kalle, Project Manager
Hi Karl, or more commonly known as Kalle,
You recently joined Excillum as Technical Project Manager.
How has it been so far?
It’s been great! Although the COVID situation I have close contact with many colleagues and everyone has been very supportive.
You are leading complex R&D projects, what is your “project management philosophy”?
As a technical project manager, I strive to be involved in technical aspects of the project, such as requirements analysis and design. This helps both with stakeholder relations, planning and in prioritizing work. I value commitment to plans highly and believe that a well-defined structure and process within the project is a key to success.
Before joining Excillum you were in IT industry, how come you wanted a move to hardware?
That’s what I’ve always been interested in and I spent the first decade of my career within microelectronics. After some years in the IT industry, it now feels like I found the way home again!
As many other people you are in the middle of family/work life, how do you balance that and what can we do to support?
It’s always a challenge, especially when you get immersed in an interesting and challenging project and have sharp delivery dates and deadlines. Luckily, I have great team members who take on a lot of responsibility to carry the project forward!
Thank you Karl, we are really impressed by how you have kick-started our latest big project!
