Hello Karin! 

You are known here at Excillum as the compliance expert. But apart from that, who are you?

Hmm that's a good question... and probably the hardest one! I am a caring and helpful person who wants everyone to be happy. When someone is not happy, I try to change that. I'm also a bit impatient, and if nothing happens I make sure to speed things up.

What are you doing here at Excillum? 

I am working as a compliance engineer, which means that I make sure that our product complies with regulations and laws. 

Why did you choose a career in compliance? 

I didn't choose it, it chose me. I have always worked at companies with electricity and energy intense products, and in these organisations a bad design could cause electronic shocks, burns etc. Working with that risk made me value the rules and standards regulating the design, as they create better and more safe products.  

I have always considered it important that everyone followr rules and guidelines, to ensure health and safety. And therefore 
compliance work fits me perfectly. I make sure that our work comply with regulations and laws, and assure that we sell safe products. 

Do you have any favourite memory associated with your job? 

I can’t think of anything specific. But it is always a great feeling when you complete a compliance work on a new product, as it is the final step before the release. After my approval the product will be ready for the market and the customer.
